Peachtree Hills is north of Brookwood Hills.  It was established after the Depression; most houses are of the brick and frame bungalow-style construction.  The neighborhood has many apartments and a pleasant community commercial district at Peachtree Hills Avenue and Virginia Place.  Peachtree Hills home prices average around $400,000.

North of Peachtree Hills is Garden Hills, another pleasant neighborhood of tree-lined streets and solid homes, most of which were built in the 1920s and `30s.  Developer Philip McDuffie laid out the area in accordance with the popular Frederick Law Olmsted aesthetics.  To create more of a self-contained village, he called for two schools, a small commercial district, and some multifamily housing.  His vision is reflected in the International School, the Garden Hills Elementary school, a thriving business district along Peachtree Road, and a community center with a clubhouse and a pool.  Home styles in Garden Hills include American Colonial, Tudor, English Cottage, Georgian, and more.  The neighborhood is on the National Register.  Home prices start at about $400,000 and go over $1 million.

Between Peachtree Hills and Garden Hills is Peachtree Heights East, developed by Eurith Rivers (who become Georgia’s governor).  Across Peachtree Road is its sister neighborhood, Peachtree Heights West, developed in the 1910s and `20s by Eurith Rivers and W. P. Andrews.  Towering over many beautiful home built by the city’s leading architects is the high-rise Park Place condominium, Atlanta home of musician Elton John.  Much of Peachtree Heights West is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Home prices in the two neighborhoods run anywhere from $500,000 to more than $4 million.
